NEW UPDATE!

James* found long-term permanent housing and has expressed his appreciation for the help he has received from Housing El Dorado. He has moved on from his first position to a higher paying, more stable position at a new company. He is also excited to announce that he has adopted a puppy who is now his best friend and keeps him company in his new home. 

We started working with James in December of 2020 when he entered the Pathways Winter Lodging Project. He was personable and seemed as if he had a strong desire to change the trajectory of his life. He was compliant with the guidelines of the program and he was an exemplary participant. It was soon apparent that he was willing to do the work to make the necessary changes in his life. He immediately started looking for work and asked us to create a small flyer that he could post in the community for housing and employment. 

James found a job and after showing them what he is made of, he was recently promoted and has even travelled to other locations for the company. He has found a place to live, which he has furnished with a little help from friends, Housing El Dorado and Re/Max Realty. James' success is a perfect example of what can happen, when the unhoused are offered stability in a safe environment, which allows them to take the necessary steps towards independence with support and guidance. We are incredibly proud of James and the work he has done to turn his life around.
