Did you know:
Currently one needs a job earning more than $28 an hour to be able to
afford rent in El Dorado County? (Average rent $1468).
And that there are not enough affordable
rental homes for working families?
The shortfall is over 3000 homes.
EDCOE estimates there are 850 students in our county that do not have secure housing.
Housing El Dorado has provided ongoing advocacy at the Placerville City Council and the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors to build affordable housing to meet the needs of our community. We have also assisted in connecting the City of Placerville and El Dorado County with affordable housing developers for new projects. So far, these efforts have contributed to the approval of four new major affordable housing projects over the past 24 months. These projects will result in approximately 290 new units of affordable workforce housing on the Western Slope. Housing El Dorado continues this important advocacy work.
