For many years, dedicated community members and individuals from multiple Western Slope organizations have provided assistance and shelter to those that often find themselves without the basic necessities.
Out of this was born Housing El Dorado.
The El Dorado Community Foundation has assisted in creating a structured approach to the overall goals of Housing El Dorado. These goals include conducting a housing survey for the Western Slope, identification of available funding, organizational development, communications and planning.
Housing El Dorado is partnering with El Dorado County and El Dorado Opportunity Knocks for a Unified Approach to Housing Related Initiatives
Housing El Dorado worked with El Dorado County and the City of Placerville to recruit Jamboree Housing to redevelop The Clementine (the former Armory) in Placerville.
Among the Members of the Board are members of the El Dorado Opportunity Knocks (EDOK) Continuum of Care (CoC) Board
Housing El Dorado is working collaboratively with EDOK and partners on the Continuum of Care to support strategies to end homelessness in El Dorado County.
